Overview
Throughout December, you can see almost every street in Bangkok decorated with Thai flags, the Kingโ€™s pictures and many beautiful flowers. On the 5th of December you can see many people with lit-candles in their hands and hear many traditional songs. It is the day, when the nation is celebrating the King Bhumipolโ€™s birthday. In Thailand, it is also known as the National Fatherโ€™s Day and a national holiday.

The king of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej is the world's longest-serving current head of State. Bhumibol retains enormous powers and popularity among the Thai people. Therefore, this annual celebration is a massive event that draws in thousands of locals and tourist from all over the world. It is a great opportunity to experience both: the spirit of Asian pearl, Bangkok, and a tradition that unifies the nation.

Bangkok is said to be the cultural center of Asia. Some decades ago the city was known entirely for the sex tourism. However, nowadays it has become a cosmopolitan, dynamic and lively city. It is one of the top destinations in Southeast Asia as well.
