Nihonsai Festival was held in Jan 13, 2010. It was divided into 2 periods, day and night. The day was held in the name of the eastern language major, called The Color of the East, around HB7 the faculty of humanities, Chiang Mai University. There were many activities which manifest expressed Japanese culture, such as Tea Ceremony demonstration, flower arrangement and Japanese brush writing. There were academic Japanese culture quiz contest and high school Japanese speech contest. Furthermore, Japanese food, which was cooked by students who had learnt Japanese cuisine from native Japanese chef, was sold in low-price. The last but not least, there were many beautiful performances from Japanese major students, such as Japanese Dance, stage play about Japanese tourist attractions, and Souran Dancing.
At night, it was a Japanese fair, called Nihonsai by Japanese major students. It started from 6pm to 10 pm at a volleyball court, Chiang Mai University. There were many fun activities for visitors to join and buy, such as games, taking photo in Yukata costume, souvenir and Japanese food. Moreover, visitors took pleasure in performances on the stage like Aikido demonstration, cover dancing and cosplay. Nihonsai Festival is held once every year. It shows the ability and achievements of Chiang Mai University, Japanese major students.
