Just behind Thapae Gate, 1.5 km Rachadamnoen Rd. (traffic-free on Sunday evenings) turns to be a crowded and busy walking street known to locals as “Sunday Market” The Market is the best known walking street in Chiang Mai and the biggest handicraft center throughout the northern region.
